On the Sparkpeople website on a message board today I saw this quote in someone's signature "If hunger isn't the problem then food is not the answer". How often do I use food to solve my problems? Or no food? I use having to run errands as an excuse to eat junk. I actually think to myself "well I have to go all the way into town and I can pick up some Taco Bell before I go shopping". As if Taco Bell is good, or good for you, or a reason to go to town. I am so tempted by crap food it sickens me. Yesterday - as I was heading into town to go to the emergency room (cat bit me, swollen infected finger, needed antibiotics) I stopped at the gas station to "get a snack for the boys" and grabbed discounted Valentine's Day candy - chocolate covered cookie dough bites. Pure sugar and fat with no redeeming qualities.
Food is not the answer. I need to find what is.
I deal with that issue ALL the time. I love crap food..I do. I think with me, I don't know how good REAL food is. I am learning. Hang in there..You have a friend..xoxo
ReplyDeleteCrap food is crappy. Because it's not a good friend to us at all. It's like that toxic friend where they act like they're doing you a favor but really are doing nothing but putting you down and being condescending. Get rid of your toxic friends. Crap food is a toxic friend. I picture crap food laughing behind our backs after we buy/eat them: "Ha! HA! What a sucker....got her to eat us again!" I hate crap food. (I have not mastered crap food. Yet.)
ReplyDeleteI completely can relate to this. I have to literally force myself to NOT stop at the gas station and buy those really yummy popcorn chickens...with a side of RedBull. It's not good for my waist OR my wallet.
