Cold

Too cold to run outside with the boys again today. I think the temp is going back up tomorrow. I need a treadmill ...

I have tons of DVDs I could have done today, but the thought of them left me cold so I decided to "rest" today. Now I am off to bed to get some real sleep.

  1. Hi Becky,

It's Alex from Paleohacks. The link to the cornell small farms program is you best starting point. Violet Stone who runs that program will know more people in your neck of the woods to talk to. The other good cornell person to talk to is Matt LeRoux who is a Tompkins county extension agent specializing in Ag marketing. He also does a lot of work with livestock farmers. You can contact him mnl28 at cornell dot edu.

As a winegrape and vegetable farmer, I don't have much specific advice for you. The one thing I can recommend is to develop good relationships with other farmers in your area. Starting a farm can be incredibly difficult, and having a good network of farmer friends makes all the difference in the world. Take every opportunity to attend farmer meetings and social gatherings. Try to get some experience helping out on other farms. It will be well worth the extra effort.

If you like to chat further you can contact me at rajackman at yahoo dot com.

    Good luck,
    Alex
